Description
| A greeting card set featuring an Izumo folk art paper envelope and an Echizen washi frame containing a piece of “kogire” (recycled kimono fabric) with auspicious patterns The card and envelope, set in a washi frame adorned with auspicious patterns believed to bring good fortune, were crafted with meticulous attention to materials and processing; The delicate and intricate embossed auspicious patterns on the cards themselves are made possible by Echizen Washi—a type of washi with a 1,500-year history, known for producing strong, resilient paper used in banknotes and certificates. The cards, featuring flaps, convey the warmth of human touch. The included envelopes are made from hand-made Izumo Folk Art Paper, which traces its lineage back to the late* Living National Treasure, Eishiro Abe. Characterized by its surprisingly soft texture when touched, this washi comes in four colors: vermilion*, kihada*, moegi*, and wasurenagusa*. Through the collaboration of historic antique fabrics and the craftsmanship of artisans from across modern Japan, you can fully savor the luxury of tradition. To make it easier for international customers to appreciate these cards, the enclosed booklet includes explanations of the auspicious patterns in both Japanese and English. The collection features a diverse array of auspicious motifs, including carefully selected calligraphic patterns, the Seven Gods of Good Fortune, Gosho dolls, and Karako figures. Please enjoy the unique discoveries you’ll make with each purchase. Click here for assortments organized by pattern, such as cherry blossom and peony designs. #MadeInJapan #Masterpiece #ExquisiteItem #LocalSpecialty #Regional #InboundTourism #Souvenir #Kimono #handmade #craft |
