Studied under Kaneko Otei. He graduated from Tokyo Gakugei University, received the Nitten Special Prize in 1988 and 1989, the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology Award at the Mainichi Calligraphy Exhibition in 2009, and the Mainichi Art Award in 2012. He exhibited his works at the Mainichi Modern Calligraphy New Year Exhibition. Exhibited at the Asahi Modern Calligraphy Exhibition. He has held solo exhibitions more than 10 times, taught NHK TV calligraphy courses (3 times), appeared on NHK*E-television's "Zen Words for Calligraphy" series, NHK TV drama "Tomehane! Suzuri High School Calligraphy Club], NHK drama [Shodo Girls! Our Koshien]. Currently, he is a member of Nitten, vice president of All Japan Calligraphers' Association, director of Mainichi Calligraphers' Association, executive director of National Association for the Promotion of Calligraphy and Art, permanent advisor to Japan Poetry Writers Association, president of Sogen Shodokai, visiting professor at Taisho University, and lecturer at NHK Cultural Center. 石飛博光（いしとび・はっこう）
1941年、北海道赤平に生まれる。金子鷗亭に師事。東京学芸大学卒業。88年、89年日展特選連続受賞。09年毎日書道展 文部科学大臣賞受賞、12年毎日芸術賞受賞。 毎日現代書新春展出品。朝日現代書道二十人展出品。個展開催十数回。NHKテレビ書道講座講師(三回)、NHK・Eテレ「書にきく禅語シリーズ」他。NHKドラマ「とめはねっ!鈴里高校書道部」、映画「書道ガールズ!! わたしたちの甲子園」書道監修。現在、日展会員、全日本書道連盟副理事長、毎日書道会理事、全国書美術振興会常務理事、 日本詩文書作家協会常任顧問、創玄書道会会長、大正大学客員教授、NHK文化センター講師。主な著書に『実用書道』『常用漢字五体字集』『石飛流書道の学び方』『DVDで学ぶ石飛博光書道の基本』(NHK出版)、『ちょっと書いてみたい漢詩』(小学館)、『ほっとする禅語 70(正・続)』(二玄社)、『DVDブック石飛博光の書道』(天来書院)、『石飛的筆墨生活ノススメ』『暮らしの書道十二カ月』(芸術新聞社)、臨書集『古典渉猟』第1期全10集+別集、第2期全10集。
