Many Kutani-yaki vases are so ornate in themselves that even a single simple flower looks stunning in them. They blend harmoniously not only with traditional Japanese rooms but also with Western-style rooms and modern interiors, adding a touch of elegance to any space. They are highly popular as decorative pieces, gifts, and souvenirs for overseas visitors.
[Mokubei Style]* Produced at the Kasugayama Kiln from 1806 to 1820. The kiln was established in Kasugayama, Kanazawa, under the guidance of Aoki Mokubei, one of Japan’s “Three Master Potters.” A representative feature of this style is the “Rakan-de” technique, in which the base is coated in red and dynamic figures are painted using five-color glazes.
