Description
| These are marquetry coasters. These marquetry coasters are crafted by meticulously combining the colors and grain patterns of different wood species. By carefully selecting each piece of wood—each with its own unique character—assembling them, and polishing them with care, we bring out their one-of-a-kind luster. The wood used in these coasters has been collected over many years. By highlighting the rich character inherent in the wood and avoiding excessive ornamentation, we have given form to its essential beauty. Each time you use one, you’ll feel the warmth of the wood and the passage of time. It quietly accompanies your daily life, adding a touch of understated elegance to your style. Each piece is finished with a 100% natural wax made from a blend of beeswax and plant-derived oils. Wood Species: We craft our pieces using whatever materials are on hand, including cherry, chestnut, cypress, beech, oak, cedar, Japanese whitebeam, and ebony. [Care Instructions] If the luster fades or scratches become noticeable, apply a plant-based oil such as olive oil or camellia oil, then wipe it off with a dry cloth to restore the shine. [Shiratani Workshop] Based in Nichinan Town, Tottori Prefecture, this workshop uses the marquetry technique to bring out the beauty of wood. We continue to create items—such as accessories, stationery, and household goods—that you can cherish for years, making the most of the warmth and unique character of wood. -------------------------------------------- ------------------------ *The price listed is for a single coaster. *Colors and wood types may vary depending on the piece. *A glass is not included. *The photo is for illustrative purposes only. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us. |
