Description
| This product was commissioned from Kunsan Seito, a Hasami-yaki pottery studio popular in Japanese gift shops, and features an original design created by our company. “Inban” refers to a decorative technique using stamps that has been practiced since the Edo period. In the past, before rubber was available, artisans reportedly used “konnyaku-ban”—stamps made from konnyaku that had been frozen until it became sponge-like. Additionally, Kunsan Seito’s inban technique creates a textured surface. The design is meant to be felt with the fingertips, making it a form of universal design. |
