Description
| We’ve reimagined the traditional flag pattern used by the Asafo—a warrior organization of the Fanti people of Ghana—as a symbol of their group. This design depicts the proverb: “Fish grow fat for the crocodile, the ruler of the river.” The crocodile symbolizes the leader of the Asafo (the Fanti military), while the fish represent the enemy and the birds represent the soldiers’ comrades. Although the design conveys a powerful message reflecting the leader’s strength and the collective power of the soldiers, even the fish—which represent the “enemy”—are depicted with endearing expressions. |
