*Kutani Ware
A collaboration between Tokoname Ware and Kutani Ware.
These black clay teapots, crafted by Tokoname Ware Traditional Craftsman* Hirotaka Umehara (Tamakō II),
have been hand-painted with overglaze designs by Kutani Ware painter Tsugimori Tamura.
In the two pottery regions of Tokoname* and Kutani, which have long preserved their traditions,
a masterpiece of traditional craftsmanship has been created
by potters who have been active in these regions for many years.
These teapots, crafted on the potter’s wheel from red clay,
are designed with simplicity, lightness, and ease of use in mind.
By skillfully combining various techniques—such as blue granules, red granules, gold leaf, silver leaf, and decal overglaze decoration—
the designs are applied with careful consideration for balance with the teapot’s shape.

*Ceramesh mesh
Not only is it easy to hold and does it pour smoothly,
but the reason Tokoname-yaki teapots are so widely trusted
lies in the exquisite craftsmanship of the tea strainer.

refined through the relentless dedication of our artisans.
