[THE COTTAGE INDUSTRY] THE COTTAGE INDUSTRY was born in 2003 in England. The Cottage Industry was founded in 2003 by Damian O'Sullivan, a designer born in England and raised in the Netherlands. He graduated from RCA (Royal College of Art, London) in 1993. After graduating from the RCA (Royal College of Art, London) in 1993, he worked for 8 years in an internationally renowned design firm, Lisa Smiths. He began his creative career with his partner Lisa Smiths, who had worked for eight years in an internationally renowned design firm. The origin of "THECOTTAGE INDUSTRY" dates back to the Industrial Revolution of the 18th century. At that time, there were only a limited number of materials available to complete a single work of art. That is why many valuable works of art were created. Even today, with the abundance of things and designs, we still keep the motto of "simple but special" as our starting point. We continue our creative activities with the motto of "simple but special. |

THE COTTAGE INDUSTRYは2003年、イギリス生まれ
オランダ育ちのデザイナーDamian O'Sullivan によって設立されました。
彼は1993 年にRCA(ロンドン王立芸術学院) を卒業後
10年以上のキャリアを経て、国際的に有名な設計事務所で
8年間働いていたLisa Smiths をパートナーに迎え創作活動を始めました。
"THECOTTAGE INDUSTRY"の由来は、18世紀の産業革命の時代に遡ります。
当時は芸術品ひとつを完成させるにも限られた材料しかありませんでした。
だからこそ貴重な作品が多く生まれました。
物とデザインが溢れる現代でもその頃の時代背景を原点とし、
シンプルだけれど特別である事をモットーに創作活動を続けています。
