| Kutani-yaki, a traditional craft recognized by the Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry, celebrates 360 years since the opening of the Kutani kiln. Kutani-yaki was exhibited at the Paris World Exposition and became famous throughout the world as Japan*Kutani, and has been collected by famous museums around the world, including the British Museum and the Louvre. [Features] Handmade hand-dyed earthenware pot No. 9. This is a collaboration project between a handmade lid by Kutani Wagama and a handmade earthenware pot made of genuine Banko-yaki. The dyeing process, painted in one color of indigo, is simple*is*modern. [Somezuke" is also called Chinese "blue-and-white" and refers to the technique of dissolving cobalt-based pigment, gozu, in water, drawing designs on porcelain, applying glaze, and firing.
