Description
| [Ethical (regional)] Delicate patterns are produced using a technique called Fukuro-ori, which has a large number of warp threads. The folding is so complicated that it will break if long rushes are not used. The dense warp makes it firm and tear-resistant. Furthermore, the seven-ply weaving process gives the product durability, volume, and an overwhelming sense of presence. While ordinary rugs are double woven and only two colors can be produced in a straight line, the seven-ply weave can produce seven colors, which makes it possible to produce more vivid and delicate patterns. In addition, the rushes are dyed using a technique called rikka dyeing, which does not fade easily, to produce deep colors. The warp yarn is 1.3 times thicker than that used for ordinary Japanese rugs, which makes the yarn itself more durable and the surface of the fabric more clearly visible. Kurume-ori fabric is used for the helicopter fabric. Kurume-ori is a traditional weave from the Kurume region of Fukuoka Prefecture, and is a valuable fabric often used for kimonos and clothing. 7-ply weaving requires particularly skilled techniques, and only a limited number of craftsmen are able to complete it. In addition, only about 4 pieces can be produced per day, making it a rare and valuable product. The rush grass is produced in Japan (from Kyushu). Each strand is thick, with a thick outer skin and fine fibers, making it resilient and durable. Rigusa has a natural purifying effect on the air and regulates humidity. It is also stain-resistant, and as it is used, it changes to a golden color, giving it a distinctive flavor. The rush grass is treated with Aomori Hiba (Aomori Hiba). (Antibacterial and deodorizing effect) The backing is covered with a non-woven fabric, so it has moderate cushioning properties and is suitable for use on wooden flooring. |
