Description
This book presents a total of 235 products, five from each of Japan's 47 prefectures, representing the best of Japanese design. From traditional crafts to super modern designs, each prefecture has its own unique and outstanding products. By experiencing the current state of Japanese manufacturing through these "products," this exhibition will provide an opportunity to reconsider Japan's individuality, design, and regional manufacturing, and to rediscover Japan. This book is the official publication of the exhibition "Design Bussan Nippon" (August 27-September 1, 2008, Matsuya Ginza), which was organized by the Japan Design Committee and commissioned by Kenmei NAGAOKA. The contents of the book can be enjoyed by designers and creators interested in branding, men and women in their 20s and 30s who love design and value their own lifestyle, those who are keen on souvenir guides, and those who like to travel around design and food, from a variety of perspectives. As a special feature of the book version, a "Design Travel Guide" for each of the 47 prefectures is included at the end of the book under the title "Travel + DESIGN. A travel guide with selections by Kenmei Nagaoka is included, allowing you to fully enjoy design in sightseeing, eating, and lodging in one night and two days. |
