Born in Tokyo in 1934, he worked for Remington-Rand Library Beaureux in 1963 and returned to Japan in 1965 after a tour of the U.S. and Mexico. His major works include [Aweicho], [Waseda], [Muryotsu Mai], and [Maituwaa]. Takao Habuka Architect. Born in Joetsu City, Niigata Prefecture in 1945, Habuka established Genius Studio Design Office in 1975, which was renamed Genius Studio Design Office, Inc. on October 5, 1989. Major works include Shikisai Ichiriki, Senjuan, Ginza Kyubei Annex, and Aizu Central Hospital. Major awards include the Japan Institute of Architectural Finishing Engineers (JIAF)* Society Award. 早稲田大学そばにある奇怪な建物「和世陀」を1983年に設計した建築家・梵寿綱（ぼん・じゅこう）と、旅館「仙寿庵」、鮨屋「銀座久兵衛・別館」などを手がけた建築家・羽深隆雄の2名を紹介する異色の建築作品集。
それぞれがまったく異なる風姿を持ちながら、師弟である2名に、どこか通ずるところが垣間見られます。
また梵寿綱初の書籍である本書は、梵の代表作のみならず、思想の一端を垣間見ることができる一冊です。
【著者プロフィール】
梵寿綱（ぼん・じゅこう）
建築家。1934年、東京府に生まれる。63年にREMINGTON-RAND LIBRARY BEAUREUX社（アメリカ）勤務、65年アメリカとメキシコ周遊を経て帰国、74年に梵寿綱を名乗り、梵寿綱とその仲間たちを結成、アート・コンプレックス運動を開始。主な作品に、「阿維智」「和世陀」「無量寿舞」「舞都和亜」など。
羽深隆雄（はぶか・たかお）
建築家。株式会社 羽深隆雄・栴工房設計事務所 代表取締役。1945年、新潟県上越市に生まれる。75年に栴工房設計事務所設立、89年10月5日に株式会社 羽深隆雄・栴工房設計事務所に改める。主な作品に、「四季彩一力」「仙寿庵」「銀座久兵衛・別館」「会津中央病院」など。主な受賞に日本建築仕上学会・学会賞など多数。主な著書に「和風モダン建築デザイン術〜蘇る日本の伝統技法〜」。
