Description
The MA-1 was introduced in the mid-1950s as the successor to the B-15 series of flight jackets for the intermediate zone. It was originally equipped with an oxygen tab and an ISC tab, almost the same specifications as the B-15 (MOD), and the lining was gray. (MIL-J-8279, Types A and B) In the mid-1960s, the lining was changed to rescue orange to increase visibility during rescues. (C,D type) When the successor model, CWU-45P, was adopted in the late 1970s, the lining was changed to the same sage green as the outer lining and was used mainly by aircrews and ground crews. (F,G model) Model E was adopted in the early 1970s, but by the mid-1970s it was being updated to the new CWU-45P model, making it virtually the last model in the MA-1 as a flight jacket. Our product is based on the MIL-J8279E, which features flap pockets, and uses polyester for the padding material with excellent moisture retention properties. We have produced this MA-1 based on the concept of a lightweight MA-1 that can be worn casually. Jacket ** |
