Graduated from Doshisha University, Faculty of Law, Department of Law. While in school, she spent a year in the U.S. and taught herself photography while working part-time at a black-and-white developing facility. After returning to Japan, he specialized in underwater photography as a staff photographer for a diving magazine, and became a freelance photographer in 2005. He has visited more than 140 countries and regions, and between 2010 and 2012, he traveled to 103 countries in 1,021 days, publishing a photo book [Walkabout] and a travelogue [The Songlines]. His solo exhibition in New York in 2015 was covered by many media and received local acclaim, and he has been exhibiting his work through photo books and exhibitions in Japan and abroad. |
