Description
\Newly launched on April 1, 2024 (Monday)/. *Sakiko Nomura [Troimelai] mini portfolio*. Sakiko Nomura's [Träumerei Träumerei] is a portfolio consisting of five black-and-white works with two images printed on the top and bottom, and one still-life photograph of flowers taken in Nomura's hometown of Shimonoseki, Yamaguchi Prefecture. The title is a word meaning "dream" or "dreaming," also known from the piano music of German composer Robert Schumann. As the word suggests, the six works in this exhibition are characterized by a mixture of travel memories and intimacy, while evoking images that are somewhat like daydreams. The title of the work is the name of the city, but it does not necessarily mean that the two photographs were taken there; rather, it is the title that Nomura gave to the combined works when creating this portfolio. Sakiko Nomura Born in Yamaguchi Prefecture, Nomura graduated from the Photography Department of Kyushu Sangyo University's Faculty of Art, and began studying under Nobuyoshi Araki in 1992. Since 1993, she has had over 200 solo and group exhibitions in Japan and abroad. His major photo collections include "Naked Time" (Heibonsha), "Night Flight" (Little More), and "About Love" (ASAMI OKADA PUBLISHING), a 400-page collection of photographs taken over a period of 20 years, mainly of 100 men in the nude, released in 2017. *What is collotype*? While offset printing, a common printing method, expresses colors and shading with a density of small dots, collotype expresses them with continuous gradation, allowing for more realistic and precise detail as in a photograph. The *Mini Portfolio Series is a series that focuses on size and set contents so that users can easily enjoy photographic works with the expressive power that only Collotype can offer. Each set contains 8 x 10" sheets of collotype prints, which can be held in your hand and admired one at a time, or framed as a beautiful addition to your home decor. |
