Description
| Kutani-yaki, a traditional craft recognized by the Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry, celebrates 360 years since the opening of the Kutani kiln. Kutani-yaki was exhibited at the Paris World Exposition and became famous throughout the world as Japan*Kutani, and has been collected by famous museums around the world, including the British Museum and the Louvre. The overglaze painting and the box were all done by hand by Mr. Masato Tanishiki, a traditional Kutani-yaki craftsman certified by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, on a base material handmade in a Kutani-wa kiln. The box can be used for decoration or as a container for small articles, and is sure to be very useful. |
