| Kutani-yaki, a traditional craft recognized by the Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry, celebrates 360 years since the opening of the Kutani kiln. Kutani-yaki was exhibited at the Paris World Exposition and became famous throughout the world as Japan*Kutani, and has been collected by famous museums around the world, including the British Museum and the Louvre. [Features] No. 8 earthenware pot with handmade hand-drawn and hand-dyed patterns. Both the body and lid are made of Kutani ware. The indigo blue coloring on the surface is simple yet modern. [Somezuke" is also called Chinese "blue-and-white" and refers to the technique of dissolving cobalt-based paint [gozu] in water, drawing designs on porcelain, applying a glaze, and firing. Since the dyeing method involves painting directly on unglazed porcelain, it is no exaggeration to say that the vigor of the brush and the craftsman's brushwork determine the quality of the design.
