| Kutani-yaki, a traditional craft recognized by the Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry, celebrates 360 years since the opening of the Kutani kiln. Kutani-yaki was exhibited at the Paris World Exposition and became famous throughout the world as Japan*Kutani, and has been collected by famous museums around the world, including the British Museum and the Louvre. This mug is painted by Kutani Ginshu Kiln, which is so popular among women that there is even an antenna store in Tokyo. While breaking the image of Kutani-yaki, the mugs are made using traditional techniques, and the abstract and unique fairy-tale style of the painting is fascinating to the viewer. |
