Description
While it is not surprising that Shoen's paintings of beautiful women originated in ukiyoe, she also began to seek her concepts in the world of Noh drama, and her work became a part of the Noh theatre. Shoen's painting style was on an unchangeable trajectory throughout her life. Her representative works such as [Kinuta], [Sogarai Komachi], [Shizuka], and [Kaen] are based on Noh plays, but she set the period in the mid-Edo period to avoid the embodiment of real life. The artist probably set the period in the middle of the Edo period and avoided the embodiment of real life. (omission) "Flower of Life," which gave birth to Shoen's original expression [Flower of Life," which gave birth to Shoen's original expression, seems to have been born out of a woman's abandonment of one of the most important aspects of female happiness. Shoen's portrayal of women is resolute on the inside, yet beautiful and gentle on the outside. (omitted). In her later years, she painted the lives of ordinary women because the image of her mother had finally been sublimated into her image. The image of her mother was finally sublimated in her image and became her existence. Atsuyuki Uemura (Japanese-style painter, member of the Japan Art Academy) - excerpt from the preface |
