This book contains approximately 550 canned food labels for domestic*export use printed from 1877 to the Showa period. The labels depict a wide variety of foodstuffs, from fish, meat, crustaceans, fruits and vegetables to side dishes for the dinner table, and show the abundance of food resources in Japan at the time and the high level of design ability that was cultivated amid international competition.
