| Saito Dyeing Shop has been in business for more than 120 years as an indigo dyeing navy blue shop in Chichibu, Saitama Prefecture. We make small cloth goods, tote bags, and other items such as tenugui hand towels, one by one by hand, using indigo dyed and stitch fabric. About Chichibu indigo dyeing Surrounded by mountains, the Chichibu region has long flourished with shrines and temples, and has nurtured its own unique culture, from its clothing*food*safety*residence to its dialect. [As the lyrics of the Chichibu Ondo (Chichibu folk song) say, the Chichibu Night Festival, held on December 3, has been handed down from generation to generation. For more than 120 years since our establishment as an indigo dyeing and navy blue shop, we have been dyeing lintels, curtains, banners, and other mark-dyed goods essential for these festivals, as well as reprinting costumes that have been handed down from generation to generation. In addition to supporting the inheritance of traditional culture, we also help businesses to prosper by making store curtains, advertising flags, and store decorations. We will continue to refine the skills that we were born and raised with in the Chichibu area, and we will continue to devote ourselves to our work with gratitude and pride. This tote bag uses traditional stitch weaving as its main material. It is large enough to hold a 500ml PET bottle vertically, making it ideal for everyday use or a short trip. The interior is made of indigo-dyed fabric, and when the bag is opened, a glimpse of Japanese taste gives a sense of profundity. The outer material has a smooth feel to the touch. The outer material is made of a smooth and silky stitch-weave fabric. This firm fabric is taut and slightly thick, and maintains the beautiful shape of the bag body. It is deep enough to hold a 500ml PET bottle standing up. The gusset width is 120mm, making it the perfect size for a lunch box. There is one pocket inside for small items. 秩父の藍染について
周囲を山々に囲まれた秩父地方は、神社仏閣を中心に古くから栄え、衣・食・住、方言に至るまで独自の文化を育んできました。
「秋蚕（あきご）しもうて、麦まきおえて、秩父夜祭待つばかり」と秩父音頭の歌詞にもあるように、12月3日の秩父夜祭に代表される、お祭りの数々が脈々と伝承されています。
藍染紺屋として創業以来120有余年、私共はこの地においてそれらに欠かせない袢天や幕、のぼり旗など印染の品物を染め上げるとともに、受け継がれる衣装の復刻などを行って参りました。
また印染の技術は、伝統文化の継承を影で支えるとともに、店舗のれんや宣伝旗、店舗装飾など商売繁盛のお手伝いもさせて頂いています。
この秩父地域に生まれ育てていただいた技術により磨きをかけ、感謝と誇りを胸にこれからも精進して参ります。
伝統的な刺子織をメイン素材に使用したトートバッグです。
500mlペットボトルが縦に入る大きさなので、普段使いや ちょっとしたお出かけにも最適なサイズです。
内装には藍染の生地を使用し、バッグを開けた時にちらりと見える和のテイストが奥ゆかしさを感じさせます。
表素材には肌触りがサラリとした。刺子織りの生地を使用。張りとやや厚みのあるしっかりとした生地で、バッグ本体のきれいな形を保っています。
500mlペットボトルも立てて入る深さがります。マチ幅が120mmあるので、お弁当箱などの収納に最適なサイズです。
内部には小物用のポケットが1つあります。スマートフォンや散らかりやすい小物類の収納に最適です。
