The butterfly has long been adored as a symbol of true happiness. These porcelain Chopstick Rests have been carefully handcrafted, one by one, by craftsmen in the historic town of Seto (Aichi Prefecture, Japan), famous for its traditional ceramic art. The beautiful shades on each unique piece have been applied by hand, and will bring a bright, delicate, and festive mood to any table. Each chopstick in this set has been carved from natural Beechwood by craftsmen in the town of Wakasa, Fukui Prefecture, Japan. The octagonal shape reflects the Japanese reverence for the auspicious number 8, for on its side resembles the universal symbol for eternity. Used together, your new chopsticks and butterfly rest will seem as if this symbol of happiness has come to life only to perch delicately upon a twig, for you to admire.

As well, do not scrub or polish these chopsticks with a scrubbing brush.
